Ozone Generators

What they are:

• Devices that produce ozone (O₃) by using electrical discharge or UV light to convert oxygen (O₂)
• Two main types: corona discharge and UV light generators

Common uses:

• Water treatment – disinfecting pools, spas, drinking water
• Air purification – removing odors, killing bacteria/viruses
• Industrial applications – food processing, wastewater treatment
• Restoration – removing smoke/mold odors from buildings

Important safety considerations:

• Ozone is a lung irritant and can be harmful to breathe
• Should generally not be used in occupied spaces

Effectiveness:

• Very effective at killing microorganisms and breaking down odors
• Works well for water disinfection
• Can damage rubber, plastics, and some materials over time
